Nothing ventured nothing gained

This is my first attempt at blogging. I recently spoke on the idea of learning from the school of hard knocks. I think that we all have a degree of one sort or another from that school. Life is difficult at best. Some of how we manage it has to do with our attitude about it.

I received an email today about a Thanksgiving thorn boquet. The idea was to appreciate the thorns of life as we do the roses. It made a lot of sense. We seem to be very gratful for the roses unaware that they come with thorns. I learned a lot about the thorns in 2008. I am hoping for some roses in 2009.
